What is a multimeter? 

A multimeter is a handheld device that measures the quantity of voltage, resistance and more.

What is an oscilloscope?  

An oscilloscope reads and measures electric signals and graphs them on the display as a picture.

What would cause the pointer to move across the meter scale more?  

The amount of current flowing through the coil causes the pointer on the scale to move. So, a lot of current would cause the pointer to move farther or more across the scale.
