What is a DXer?
          A DXer is a person who contacts far off radios from all over the world, also known as DXing.

How would you say your name using the Phonetic Alphabet?
          I would say Genevieve in the Phonetic Alphabet like this: Golf Echo November Echo Victor India Echo Victor Echo

How do you start a contact? What shortcut do you use?
          To start a contact, you ask first if anybody is using the frequency, then wait and listen a little bit. If someone answers, you might be able to start a conversation with them. If you want to talk to someone, but only for a short amount of time, you can call for a contest, where everyone tries to contact as many people as you can in that amount of time.

How do you join a conversation in progress (non-emergency)?
          To join a conversation, you ask on a frequency if anybody is on there, and wait. As I said before, if someone reasons, you might be able to make a conversation with them. You can start out by telling them your callsign and name, and how they and their family are doing, and you can usually start a conversation.
